See how MIT students and graduates have secured their future with skills employers need.
"When I graduated from MIT my first job was with Transpacific Waste Management. One of the reasons they employed me was because I had gained a lot of practical skills at MIT, meaning I could hit the ground running when I started working for them.
My MIT degree has definitely given me a great foundation for my career."

Everyone I graduated with got jobs quickly. Thanks to what I learnt at MIT I can quickly pick up new technologies and techniques, and use them effectively in my job.

"I chose MIT because of its strong reputation.
My qualification from MIT definitely helped me secure my current job as a tax consultant at KPMG. The course ‘Taxation in NZ’ helped me to obtain the academic and technical knowledge, and the industry project helped me to apply that knowledge into practice."

“Looking back on my experience at MIT, I really enjoyed the learning style.
The choice to study engineering at MIT definitely secures your future. It narrows down on the things employers are looking for, like answers to practical questions that you might face on the job. Those are the things that show you are competent to employers.
Having a qualification is really important if you want to land that dream job.”

“I have a passion for working with children. I have worked with children for a while and I thought getting qualified would give me more knowledge and techniques to do better in my job.
MIT is very hands-on, so when you finish here there's not much change or difference when you go into the workplace. You just fit in because you've already gained the knowledge and what is happening in the field because of what you've already done in the classroom. I just blend in with all the other qualified teachers, because that's what MIT has equipped me with. You will never be supported as much as this place."
Alisi Latu
MIT early childhood education student
"I chose to study engineering because I am fascinated by electricity. When I see large factories, I wonder how some of their processes are automated, I wanted to learn and have the knowledge to do that. So for me, MIT was the best fit. I learnt the practical skills needed to get a job when I graduated.
My decision to study engineering has given me job security, I am an automation control specialist and the skills that I learned at MIT directly transferred to my role."
Shiraaz Yakub
MIT engineering graduate
"I chose to study at MIT because of its strong academic reputation. The graduate diploma allowed me to develop industry-specific skills and the professors are world-class.
The training I gained set me up for a career in almost any sector I could imagine. My qualification is recognised anywhere in the world."

“MIT is very hands-on. You can see it through our curriculum. It’s been one of the most robust programs I've seen, and I think that that's what is needed in the industry especially as hairdressing is very hands-on. It's preparing you for the industry, it's not as textbook oriented. I am well prepared to enter the industry with an entry-level.
My advice to anyone considering studying at MIT is you're going to get the hands-on experience, you're going to get the industry placements, you're going to feel prepared. MIT is a good place to start your journey.”

"I began studying for my certificate in plumbing and gasfitting at MIT instead of doing year 13 at school, and I’m so glad I did. It offered great facilities and our learning was very hands-on, which made it fun. We also had great support throughout from our tutors, who were mostly ex-tradesmen. Their strong industry connections meant we had a head-start when it came to securing a job after graduating.
If you’re considering MIT, I’d say go for it, it can really take you places. You’ll be well qualified and prepared for the workplace.”

“MIT is helping to set me up for my first job because of the structure of how we learn, we do everything exactly as we would if we were in a salon working on real clients. We dress as we would professionally for the job, we have routines and structures to work by.
We're prepared for a real job in a salon and there's lots of support to help us get there.”
Emma Ritson
MIT hairdressing student
“I graduated MIT as the highest paid software and web development graduate, all thanks to MIT for providing me with the soft and technical skills, practical experience and valuable knowledge that I wouldn’t get anywhere else.
MIT is by far the most unique educational facility I have experienced to date, that is because MIT has a different learning approach that is very engaging and practical. I fell in love with MIT because of how the courses were delivered. The lecturers were highly engaged with students one-on-one and there was so much practical hands-on experience that wasn’t available elsewhere."
