Student ID cards
Organise your photo Student ID card
Once you've enrolled into full-time study, you can start the process to get your student ID card.
Visit an Ask Me! Student Services Centre and one of our friendly staff will take your photo. Please allow a minimum of two working days after having your photo taken for your card to be processed before you collect it. For security purposes we do not send out your student ID by post.
You must have a current student ID card to:
- Have after-hours access to computer labs and selected buildings
- Access the MIT Manukau car park
- Use the library
- Enter exams
- Receive student discounts e.g. discounted bus fares.
Once you are enrolled and have paid your fees or made an arrangement to pay your fees e.g. via student loan, you are entitled to a student ID card. You may be asked to verify that you have paid your fees and show some personal identification.
There is no charge for the first card; however a replacement card will cost $10.
