Why I love MIT

Being a student here, I found my place at MIT. It became my second home. I enjoyed the classes and getting to know different people from a variety of cultures and backgrounds and having the support and encouragement from the different lecturers. One lecturer asked where I would like to be in the years ahead. I told her I wanted to do her job. I achieved my goal and now I am back, refreshed with new stories and experiences to share.

My professional journey

My journey has been a long and exciting one. I was challenged as a student here which helped me gain confidence and know that I have a voice. The lecturers who became my mentors helped me to see how important being a teacher in ECE is and how we can change other people’s lives, whether they be the children we work with, our colleagues, the parents or the community. Our contribution, however small, is noticed and valued.

My professional and personal growth was through MIT. They brought out the potential in me and my goal now is to help others see the potential in themselves. To be proud of the work they do, and to let them know that they do matter, they do make a difference, so reach out and be an early childhood teacher, and one day it may be you, saying the same thing to students in the future.
