Biography

Saravana Selvan is a dedicated lecturer and researcher with over 15 years of experience, specialising in electrical and electronics engineering education.

He earned his Doctor of Philosophy in Engineering from Multimedia University, Malaysia, and holds a Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical & Electronics from Manonmaniam Sundaranar University, India.

His professional journey includes a long tenure at AIMST University, Malaysia, where he conducted and published research, delivered advanced engineering lectures, and collaborated with industry partners. Notably, he secured a Fundamental Research Grant Scheme (FRGS) of RM 137,000 for his research on Molybdenum-Telluride-Based Dielectric Modulated Tunnel Field Effect Transistors.

His technical skills span software and hardware tools, including Silvaco TCAD, Keysight ADS, Multisim, Proteus, Matlab, Microsoft Office, Canva, Xilinx ISE, and Adobe software. He is also proficient in programming languages.

Currently, he works as a lecturer at MIT, where he continues to contribute to quality engineering education.

Research interests

Electronic device design, TunnelFET technology, bio-sensor development.

Awards and grants

  • As the principal investigator, I secured a Fundamental Research Grant Scheme (FRGS) of RM 137,000 from the Ministry of Higher Education (MoHE), Malaysia, in 2022. My grant is titled "Molybdenum-Telluride-Based Dielectric Modulated Tunnel Field Effect Transistor for Detection of Various Biomolecules."
  • In 2017, I obtained an internal grant of RM 22,000 from AIMST University for my project titled "Investigation of Tunnel FET for Ultra-Low Power Applications," where I served as the principal investigator.
  • I was honoured with the Best Star Performance Award from the Faculty of Engineering and Computer Technology at AIMST University in 2018.

  • Registered as an “Engineering Technologist” on the Board of Engineers, Malaysia.
