Biography
John was born in South Africa where he worked as an apprentice and qualified as a motor mechanic with AA Motors. John worked for over 20 years in the automotive industry and during this time he studied electronics and started to repair automotive control units.
He attended a course in London, Waltham Forest Technical College to further his technical ability in motor vehicle engine management systems. During his tenure at Car Components Repairs and BMW his focus was on diagnostics and electronic repairs.
John spent 5 years running his own business specialising in diagnostics, performance tuning and component repairs. Bosch South Africa offered him a career change as an Electronic Repair Diagnostic Technician where he attended many training courses in Germany.
John and his family moved to New Zealand in 2019 when he joined Nautech Electronics before he was offered the position of Automotive Lecturer at MIT.
