Who should attend
The course is designed specifically for individuals who wish to gain more knowledge in their current maritime security field, or wish to move into maritime security as a Port Facility Security Officer (PFSO).
Course highlights
Participants will be able to complete all duties required of a Port Facility Security Officer in ISPS-designated port facilities, including the development, implementation, revision and maintenance of the port facility security plan and liaison with ship security and company security officers.
This course meets the requirements of SOLAS Chapter XI – 2, the International Ship and Port Facility Security (ISPS) code.

Entry requirements
Ship Security Officer & Port Facility Officer courses are taught in conjunction.
- Students who attend the 2-day Ship Security Officers (SSO) Course are eligible to obtain Company Security Officer (CSO) as an additional certificate.
- Students who attend the 3-day Port Facility Security Officers (PFSO) Course are eligible to obtain additional certificates covered within the PFSO course i.e. Ship Security Officer (SSO) and/or Company Security Officer (CSO).
Please notify the New Zealand Maritime School City Campus reception at the time of your enrolment as there is an additional charge of $25 per certificate.

- Crowd management techniques
