Matariki celebrations at MIT

We've had a wonderful week of Matariki celebrations at our Ngā Kete Wānanga Marae.
The festivities began on June 25th with an early morning karakia, followed by staff and students gathering to discuss the significance of each whetu (star). The MIT Hospitality and Floristry teams organised a breakfast, selling hāngi, boil-up, coffee, juice, smoothies, bakery goods, and flower arrangements from our Marae wharekai.
The celebrations continued throughout the week, featuring the Bachelor of Applied Social Work Tauira and a pōwhiri welcoming South Auckland Middle School and the Auckland City Mission.
