Abstract: A more enterprising culture is needed if New Zealand is to prosper in a global environment. Entrepreneurship and small business play a crucial role in stimulating enterprise. The aim of this study was to investigate the nature and extent of entrepreneurship and small business education in New Zealand tertiary institutions in order to provide a database and stimulate debate. It was found that entrepreneurship and small business (ESB) education has grown in importance and is not a passing phenomenon. The findings should be of interest to policy makers, educationalists, and the business community.
