“I have studied at a number of well-regarded tertiary institutions in New Zealand and have postgraduate qualifications including a master’s degree from those institutes.
However, the Graduate Certificate in Applied eLearning from MIT has been, by far, one of the most interesting, practical and well-run courses I have encountered.
An excellent lecturer, with lots of support, and timely responses. I have found studying at MIT to have been a really rewarding, positive experience.”

“I've really enjoyed doing the NZCALNE courses. It's been very insightful, reflective and I've enjoyed the experience.
What I appreciate most is the fact that it is self-directed, caters to learners' different learning styles and the variety of learning resources.
Also, I appreciate the deadline for assessments at the end of the semester.
Both lecturers have been very helpful and supportive and responded to my queries promptly.”

“I chose to study the graduate certificates in activity based learning and applied e-Learning at MIT because the programmes were very relevant to my teaching.
I was able to apply the knowledge and skills I learnt in the classroom environment which benefited the students. The courses were flexible with part-time or full-time options and online which meant I could manage the study around my work commitments.
The lecturers were very supportive and always available to help you be successful in your study.
The courses provide both an understanding of the underpinning theories and approaches and practical experiences in the classroom with the students.
It has made my teaching more intentional and I have a deeper understanding of the approaches I use.
The students benefit from the knowledge and skills I gained during my study because I am able to create an environment that actively engages them in the learning process.”

“Doing NZCALNE was a truly enriching experience. I was particularly impressed by the practical approach to learning, and the hands-on experience that I gained in this course has given me the confidence to apply my newfound knowledge in my profession.
The course content covered a wide range of topics, including the theoretical foundations of adult literacy and numeracy, the importance of culturally responsive teaching, and strategies for promoting learner engagement and motivation. I found it highly useful to understand the Māori and Pasifika learners' worldviews of education and their specific needs in the context of literacy and numeracy and to design lessons for learners from these accordingly. This is an area that is often overlooked in mainstream education.
I would highly recommend this course to anyone looking to improve their understanding of adult literacy and numeracy in the New Zealand context, especially for Māori and Pasifika learners. The course has given me the confidence and skills to make a real difference in the lives of my learners, and I am grateful for the opportunity to have completed it.”

“This course has enabled me to gain a deeper understanding of adult learning and design with knowledge of how this can be used to create, design and implement effective learning solutions.
The standards of the content that I create have improved significantly as I now have the knowledge and skills that I needed. During the completion of this course, I was able to secure an instructional design role which I would have not been able to do, had I not enrolled in this course.
A huge thank you to Krishan and the team for guiding me and providing me with the tools to improve my work, change careers and follow my dreams.”
