Biography

Asha regards herself a global citizen with a rich heritage from Indian parents. She was born in Kenya, brought up in England and has worked overseas in Papua New Guinea and Singapore and, of course, New Zealand, which is now home.

Asha has been in teaching for over 40 years, beginning as a subject teacher in physical education, health studies, drama, and after over 20 years in senior leadership, reached her goal of principalship.

Now semi-retired, Asha continues to work. She is an accredited ACC counsellor and works part time for MIT.

Why I love MIT

I really enjoy the camaraderie of my colleagues in the Counselling team and the development of our students to become outstanding counsellors.
